My Country Kitchen Design ~ tell me what you like about it!

Rustic details add warmth to this country kitchen. Cedar lined ceiling, subway tile, soapstone countertops, and solid wood, buttermilk colored cabinets make this kitchen a delight to cook and entertain in! I was a little apprehensive about choosing soapstone for my countertops but so GLAD I did! They are amazingly forgiving (scratches and even chips can be easily repaired!) and beautifully soft to the touch. I was just sick of seeing granite everywhere and wanted something different. I had seen the stone used in vintage homes for window sills and utility sinks and like how durable it was. You cannot burn it or stain it. It does not have the artificial shine and look that granite has, but looks like stone it is. Gorgeous!
It looks like something from HGTV or Country Living Magazine! Old world charm, yet all the updates are done! For sale for $256,500. Book your showing now!
The rich color and rustic look, made the Koa wood flooring a perfect choice for the kitchen. Hawaiians have used the wood for canoe building so it is extremely water resistant and a very dense hardwood. You can read about that here.

Sitting area in the kitchen. It could be used as a dining area, too.
